Happy new year! Just a quick note to thank you for your support in 2016 and give you a heads up on some of our plans for this year.
End-of-year lists
We were thrilled to be included on a few end-of-year lists. The Album Wall named our album as their sixth favourite of the year, and two songs from the album – The t-shirt song and In the next town (same old radio) – were in their top 20 songs of the year.
Malcom Carter at Pennyblackmusic magazine included our album in his top albums of the year; blogger Warren Pilkington recommended it in his end-of-year list; and Sheffield promoter Dan Pop-o-matic said we’d just missed out on his top ten.
Popshows
We’ve been lucky enough to already a few gigs booked in for 2017, including:
- our first-ever appearance at a proper folk club, Nether Edge, in Sheffield (Wednesday 15 February)
- supporting one of our idols, Ian Prowse/Amsterdam at The Greystones on St Patrick’s Day (Friday 17 March)
- two festivals over the summer – one is Sheffield’s Tramlines (Saturday 21 July) and the other isn’t a local one
Plus there are more dates organised which we will be able to announce soon.
Four seasons/Academical… digitally
From Sunday 15 January, you’ll be able to buy/stream our first single Four seasons/Academical on all the major digital music services (the last few vinyl copies are also still available if you’d like a copy!)
Videos
We’re currently putting the finishing touches to a brand new video for one of our songs – this will be out over the next few weeks.
And on Sunday we’ll be putting a video up from a gig last year, so look out for that.
